Plant ID Workshop
Do you have a plant in your garden that you aren't familiar with? Or, perhaps are looking to find out its origins and how it came to South Florida? If so, bring your specimen to Fairchild’s Herbarium and let our scientists uncover its secrets! Bring a cutting from your plant to Fairchild’s Herbarium team on the first Friday of every month at 1:00 p.m. and participate in our Plant Identification Workshop.

Drawn To Nature Art Camp with Hillary Parker (for Ages 8-11)
Join naturalist and artist, Hillary Parker as we observe, explore, discover and create beautiful works of art that are inspired by the natural beauty of Fairchild. Using colored pencils, watercolors, collage, pen and ink and mixed media, students will learn while creating works of art. On the first day of camp a $10 fee will be collected for art supplies provided by the instructor.
Edible Art Camp with Artist Hillary Parker (for Ages 8-11)
Join naturalist and artist, Hillary Parker and have fun creating and illustrating some delicious edible art. Students will work in a studio and outdoors throughout Fairchild while gathering and sketching edible plants, fruits, and veggies and creating recipes to prepare and sample. On the first day of camp a $10 fee will be collected for art supplies provided by the instructor.
The 25th Annual International Mango Festival
Join as we celebrate mangos from wild to table, discovered in rare and endangered habitats of Indonesia, Malaysia and Borneo. Taste the new flavors, evaluate the differences between the wild mango and our South Florida favorites and discover how to incorporate the rich flavors into recipes and more!
